“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12
During the last few weeks our Pastor has been teaching from the Book of Proverbs on Bible Study night. it has been interesting to look into several different topics in this book and discuss the practical advice the writer has given us. We have looked at verses regarding the family, money, ethics, emotions and others.
In our last session, our Pastor concluded the lesson by pointing out how all the things the writer of Proverbs had to say were good admonitions and advice but they did not really tell us how we could accomplish them. So he went to the Scripture in Galatians 5:22-25, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
We can try to follow all the advice given us in Proverbs, but the only way we can see them accomplished in our lives, is when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, and let Him work on us, so that we manifest the fruit of the Spirit. This is the better way.
Prayer: Thank you Jesus, for your Word, which shows us how we should live, and for your Holy Spirit, that gives us the power to fulfill your Word.
