“It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.” Lamentations 3:26 KJV
When my younger son was a teenager, he was not very patient. He would tell me what he wanted for Christmas, but often he would go out and buy it himself ahead of time. Guess he was afraid I would not get it for him. I learned to wait until the last few days to purchase his gifts.
Sometimes we can be like that, we pray for something, and then do not fully trust the Lord to answer, but try to work it out ourselves. God has a plan and a purpose for our lives, and if we will wait and trust Him, He will work it out in His perfect timing.
Think of Abraham and Sarah. How much better life would have been for them if they had waited for God to give them the promised son, instead of finding a way to make it happen. God knew best.
Prayer: Lord, help us to trust you and to be willing to wait for your timing.
