He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. (John 1:10-11, NIV)
It seems that week after week we hear of tragedy taking place all around us. The amount of sadness and anger in the world is rapidly increasing and the thought of what kinds of things may happen in years to come gives me the chills. One would think that now would be the time that people begin to desperately seek God and yet people carry on living without taking the steps to find greater meaning for their lives.
In the last days, God is going to pour out his spirit. The world has become a scary place but I am so happy that I know a God who loves me and will keep me safe from whatever destruction is taking place in our world.
Prayer: Lord, protect us from the cruelty that is going on around the world. I’m thankful that you are the comforter and that we don’t need to be afraid when tragedy strikes because of the confidence we have in you. In Jesus name, amen.
