Circumstantial Joy

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. (Proverbs 17:22, NIV)

I think it is safe to say that we have all been guilty of allowing our emotions take over our joy.  We have to remember that joy should not be dependant on how our day is going. To have joy is much greater than just being happy.  To have the joy of the Lord is to trust that no matter what happens, God is greater! We have to believe that God is good no matter what comes our way. It is so much easier said than done but I do believe that in all things God can give us peace and joy if we ask.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for your joy to fill my heart today. Let my light be a witness to someone who is having a hard time finding the peace and joy that only you can give. In Jesus name, amen.
