Time Management Course

Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person. (Colossians 4:5-6, Holy Bible, English Standard Version)

Time. It escapes in silent seconds that form minutes. Minutes become hours. Hours race toward days. Days turn to weeks. Weeks to Months. Months march toward year end. There are 82 days remaining in 2016. Where did the time go? Have we used it for good things?

Apostle Paul addressed the church at Colosse in Phrygia (now Turkey) about interaction with nonbelievers. He drew their attention with a time management theme. Managing time is more than keeping busy. It’s making the best use of the time in an appropriate manner. Don’t waste your time was the teacher’s general topic. Then he covered the three-part message of attitude and action toward nonbelievers: Gracious speech, lightly seasoned to be palatable, accompanied by the right answers.

How would you react if you had been in Apostle Paul’s time management course?

Prayer: Lord, help me to learn to manage my time and attitude from Apostle Paul’s time insight. Amen.
