Blessings from My Soul

“Bless the Lord, oh my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.” (Psalms 103:1 Holy Bible King James Version)

Twelve years ago when I first became a contributor to More to Life Ministries, I used this verse to distinguish between giving and receiving. Today when I chose this Scripture, it reminded me of the importance of individual worship.

Receiving blessings is a matter of acceptance of a gift. Blessing others takes effort. This ancient psalm flows easily in musical form, but does it come from my lips or from the depth of my inner being?

God is waiting to be blessed by my praise—and yours. Read, sing or pray Psalm 103:1 today. Give it all you’ve got!

Prayer: Lord, You are holy and worthy of all praise. I bless you today, not only with my lips as I read, but from the depth of my soul. Amen.
