Monotheism or the belief that there is only one God is the foundation of the Scriptures.
Deuteronomy 6:4 states, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord or God is one Lord.”
Ephesians 4:5 says, “One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
It is critical that we pray to The One God whose name is Jesus!
As a man, Jesus died; as God, He raised Himself from the dead. “Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up” (John 2:19).
Jesus was God revealed, displayed, exhibited, demonstrated in flesh. “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory” (I Timothy 3:16).
Jesus was God and man; Father and Son; Spirit and flesh in one image, one body, “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily” (Colossians 2:9). Jesus, “Who is the image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15).
The revelation of one God has power because it brings with it an understanding of who we are in Christ Jesus. Jesus said to His followers, “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19) “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you” (John 15:16).
We know who Jesus is – the Mighty God IN Christ and we know who we are – children of the King of Kings and an heir to the promises of God! Let’s pray with this understanding and authority in Jesus Name!
Prayer: I pray that a revelation of the Oneness of God would sweep over my city and region. I ask that a spirit of understanding would unlock the minds of people as they study the Scripture. From this revelation of One God; we know that we recieve power and authority over all the power of the enemy! I believe there’s only One God, one way to be saved. It’s through the Mighty Name of Jesus! (Acts 4:12)
