An Unfinished Project

Anne March 2016 3Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”

How many of us have unfinished projects?  We bought all the material and started eagerly to create something special, maybe a quilt, a knitted garment or a decoration for our home.

But other duties pressed in, we found it hard to make the time available to work on our project, and finally, it was shoved away in a drawer or closet and forgotten.  Periodically we come across it in our cleaning, but the interest has waned and it is hard to get back at it.

Isn’t it wonderful that the Lord is not like us?  When He cleanses us with His blood, and makes us His own, He never leaves nor forsakes us.  Day by day, He works on us, through His Word and our communication with Him in prayer, making us into the one He wants us to be.  He has a plan and purpose for us, and He knows what the finished product will look like.  One day He will present us to the Father, a completed work, perfect in His sight.

Prayer:  Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the confidence that you have given us, that You will continue to shape us after the pattern you have for us.
