Job 26:14 “Indeed these are the mere edges of His ways, And how small a whisper we hear of Him! But the thunder of His power who can understand?” NKJV
Last night I was awakened by a loud clap of thunder. I don’t really enjoy a thunder storm but have learned just to trust the Lord to keep me safe, and in most cases I can go back to sleep. Thunder is a way that God shows His power in the universe.
But I am glad for the small whispers we hear of Him: the gentle breezes on a summer day; birds singing in the early morning hours; the laughter of a child at play; a baby softly cooing to his mother; and the welcoming voice of a loved one.
He manifests His power in the thunder, but as His children, we know the soft whispers of His love will follow.
Prayer: Lord, we do not understand all of your ways, but we thank you for the sweet whispers of your love.
