The Transcontinental Express arrived in San Francisco, California on June 4, 1876 after an 83-hour and 39-minute rail journey from New York City, New York. This great accomplishment provided the first convenient cross-country travel. Before that day, it was inconceivable. Today, air travel between these two distant cities is less than six hours.
Perhaps you’ve been distraught about the long journey some prayers have taken to produce results. Even though the expedition may have been long, like this first coast-to-coast train ride, when you had hoped for jet-speed success, your faith journey has brought you from despair to hope. With patience, you endured the trek, and reaped the results.
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer (Romans 12:12, Holy Bible, King James Version).
Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for strengthening my faith while I travel the long journey to answered prayers. Amen.
