The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10, NIV)
A few weeks ago someone broke into my car. Thankfully I did not have any valuables in the car so they got away with very little. I was so caught off guard by the incident. Car thefts have been pretty common in our city for a while now but I never expected it to happen to me. It really is hard to explain the violation you feel knowing that a stranger with no other intention but to take your belongings sits inside of your car. I’ve never had my home broken into but I can imagine the feeling is exponentially greater.
Having someone steal from you is an awful thing but I am so happy to know that those creepy thieves could never steal what matters the most to me. The enemy finds great amusement in stealing from us. He wants nothing more than for us to be unhappy Christians just going through the motions. The great thing about all of this is that we have the power to fight him off is he tries to attack! God has come so that we may have life. If you have let Satan steal from you in the past, it’s time get back what he stole from you and move forward knowing that God has granted you an abundant new life.
Prayer: If God be for us who can stand against us? Satan cannot steal and destroy if we fight him off with the Lord on our side. Thank you for giving us lives that are full not because of the things we own, but because of a God who continuously loves and cares for His children. Amen.
