“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.” Psalm 103:8
When we read the Old Testament stories about God’s dealing with His chosen people, sometimes we wonder why He put up with all their disobedience and rebellion. Time and time again, they turned away from Him, and were punished as a result. But He was always merciful and when they repented, He forgave and restored them.
We all make mistakes, and are disobedient at times to what the Lord requires of us.
But, thank God, He is merciful to us, and extends His love and grace to us. When we repent, He forgives our transgressions and our failures and restores our joy.
Prayer: Lord, we are human; we fail you in so many ways, but thank you for the mercy and grace you extend to us.
