“Blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear”. Matthew 13:16
Remember the little Sunday School song we used to sing, “Be careful little eyes what you see, There’s a Father up above and He’s looking down in love, So be careful little eyes what you see.”
Jesus had just finished telling the parable of the Sower and the Seed, and His disciples were questioning Him as to why He spoke in parables.
He explained to them that the people had closed their eyes and ears to hearing and understanding His teachings. But they, His disciples, were blessed because they heard and understood what He was telling them.
Today we have the Word of God, and faithful pastors and teachers who explain it to us. As we open our hearts, our eyes and our ears to the wonderful promises that the Lord has provided for us in His Word, we grow in our spiritual life, and we are truly blessed.
Prayer: Lord, open our eyes and our ears to the teachings of Your Word, and help us to be obedient to Your voice. Thank you for Your blessing on our lives. Amen
