A time and a place

Anne Jan. 2016 2“And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord.” Genesis 19:27

Abraham had left his country and everything he knew to travel to the place where God had told him to go.  Wherever Abraham stopped on his journey, he built an altar and communed with God.  Now he is settled down waiting for God to fulfill His promise – to make of his seed a great nation.  Every day he went to a special spot at a special time to talk to God.   It was here that God met him and renewed the covenant with him.

It is very important for us to have a time and a place where we meet the Lord each day.  It may vary a bit because of circumstances in our life, but a consistent daily communion with God is essential, if we are to fulfill God’s plan in our lives.  Our altar may be beside our bed, in our living room, or some other room in our house, but as we go to that special place every day, to read our Bibles, and commune with Him, God will meet with us and show us His will for each day.

Prayer:  Lord Jesus, I thank you for your mercy and for the way you meet me every day at my altar of prayer, the place where I stand (sit, kneel) before you.  Help me to be consistent every day.  Amen
