“But be ye doers of the word, and not hears only, deceiving your own selves.” (James 1:22 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.)
There is nothing more frustrating than giving instructions of how to do something and not having the instructions followed. Based on this passage of scripture, it sounds like the problem has been around a long time. God doesn’t approve of it either.
Just attending church and hearing the Word of God is not enough. James says if you just hear and don’t do you are fooling yourself. Doing the Word is the most important thing.
Having been a supervisor for a number of years, I found that this is a major problem for our work force. Many want to do their thing and do it their way instead of following the prescribed instructions. When God speaks, I want to listen intently and then do it.
Wise up and do what the scriptures say! Don’t be fooled and loose out.
Prayer: Lord, I want to follow Your instructions to the letter. I don’t want to just listen, I want to do what You ask of me. Your Word is doable!
