Speed Bump Ahead

Therefore, we must not fall asleep like other people, but we must stay awake and be sober. (1 Thessalonians 5:6, God’s Word Edition)

We’ve all done it at least once in our lives. You’re cruising along listening to your favorite tunes when all of a sudden you hit a speed bump going just a little too fast and you instantly feel like you’ve knocked the whole bottom right off of your car.  If you are anything like me, you also know that all of the junk in your back seat has also done some serious shifting around and you are terrified to look.  There are generally signs for an upcoming speed bump, but if you are not paying close attention one will catch you by surprise and that is never good!

If we are not cautious as we go through life, when those “speed bumps” come we will be unprepared and likely make a big mess of things.  As you are sailing through life keep an eye out for oncoming trouble because if you are ready when a storm comes you will be more likely to make it through having learned a lot from it.  If you are too caught up in what you are doing there is always the possibility of you running into trouble.

Prayer: Lord, help us to slow down on this bump road we call life.  I pray that we will be prepared for the speed bumps that come our way.
