Great Expectations: Touching the Master

And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” (Matthew 9:20-21, Holy Bible, New King James)

Jesus was on His way to heal someone farther away. Before He could make His way through the crowd to leave, a sick woman touched Him.Her faith and determination healed her and set an example for others. They no longer waited for Jesus to come to them. They pressed closer as the ailing woman had done, trying to touch the Master.

When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret. And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent out into all that surrounding region, brought to Him all who were sick, and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well. (Matthew 14:34-36).

Prayer: Lord, I’m thankful for this woman who pushed her way through the multitudes to touch You and claim her healing. She is a great example of faith. Amen.
