“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Psalm 139:14
Last year we purchased a new (to us) vehicle and were rather surprised to discover that we could only use premium fuel in it. With the unpredictable prices of gas these days, paying even more than the cost of regular fuel makes me wince.
But I did a little research and discovered that certain engines have been designed for a specific grade of fuel. Ignoring the instructions could cause knocks in the engine, less efficient performance and damage.
Well, it got me thinking about the way God designed us – body, soul and spirit – to need a certain type of “fuel”. Take in the wrong thing, and the result is annoying noise, inefficiency and eventually damage. We would do well to heed our Creator’s instructions as found in our owner’s manual, the Bible.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be conscious of what I allow into my body, soul and spirit. You know exactly what I need to be completely whole. Help me to follow the wise instructions you have given me in Your Word.
