“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” (2 Corinthians 10:5 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.)
The average person has 30,000 thoughts a day. When I heard this, I realized why the Scriptures talk about guarding our thoughts. The word “thought” is mentioned 81 times in the Bible. We must take notice of our thoughts.
The mind is a terrible thing to waste. Our thought patterns will control our reactions.
Paul uses strong language here to the Church at Corinth. The city of Corinth was so intrenched by vain philosophy he knew that they had to be broken in order for them to obey Christ.
Our present world is bombarding our minds and thoughts; we must stay on high alert!
It’s a trick of Satan.
Prayer: Help my mind and thoughts to be stayed on You, Lord. Let my thoughts be captivated by Your presence. Not my will, but Thine be done! Amen!
