Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4, Holy Bible, New King James Version).
Comfort is a soothing word. It suggests tranquility and peace in disturbing times. It is often associated with easing grief or troubles. Apostle Paul chose this word as he was facing death. He reassured the church at Corinth that God is the ultimate source of comfort. Those who have been comforted by God are instructed to extend that comfort to others in need.
Prayer: God, I pray Your peace and comfort on those who read this. Strengthen them in their time of need. Amen.
