Perfect Patience

perfect patience“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James 1:4

Do you know anyone who has perfect patience, who never gets frustrated or annoyed? Me neither! We are only human, after all.

But this verse tells us that patience can do a perfect work in the life of the Christian. And that happens over a period of time. It involves being patient first of all with ourselves. We don’t become super-Christians overnight… spiritual maturity is a process.

We also need to be patient with others, and let their weaknesses perfect patience in our lives. And finally, we need to be patient with God. He has a perfect plan for our lives, and it will take time for Him to develop us to the point where we can embrace it.

Prayer: Lord, let patience have her perfect work in me; in regard to myself, others and my relationship with You.
