“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible)
The billboard touted, “The Best Place for the Worst Wounds,” advertising a state-of-the-art Hospital Wound Center. It got me thinking about the best place to go for wounded and broken souls.
This verse was primarily referring to the fact that God healed the Israelite’s who were crushed and broken in their long captivity and returned them to their native land. It describes what God does to all those in need of healing from broken hearts and wounded spirits.
Physical wounds require special expertise by trained people. Wound centers specialize in caring for those who have suffered from various wounds. Most of these wounds are done by others. However, there are self-inflicted wounds by some.
Jesus was wounded for our transgressions. He was without sin and yet He was bruised for our iniquities. No one can heal your wounds like Jesus can!
Prayer: Jesus, I’m so glad You understand those who are wounded because You have been there. The stripes they laid on Your back were for my healing. Amen!
