We Were Once Lost

God spoke all these words: I am, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of a life of slavery. No other gods, only me. (Exodus 20:1-3, The Message)

We become so familiar with the routine of our Christian lives that we sometimes forget what it feels like to not have the Lord living inside of us.  I often find myself thankful that I was once without it because I know what it feels like to be searching for something to fill the void that each one of us are born with.  We all long for fulfillment and as a Christian we know that it can only come from one source.  When we see people around us attaching themselves to things we cannot quite comprehend, rather than being quick to judge we have to remember what it is that they are trying to do.  The lost are searching and we have to help them find what they are truly looking for.

Prayer: I am thankful today for the only source of true completion.  Lord, we are so blessed to know who you are and to be a part of your kingdom.  Use us today as we walk alongside of people who are desperately seeking for the joy unspeakable that only you can bring them.  In Jesus name, amen.
