Saved by the Word

Bible salvation“Let thy mercies come also unto me, O LORD, even thy salvation, according to thy word.” Psalm 119:41

The psalmist David had fallen in love with the Word of God, and many of his beautiful observations about it are found in Psalm 119. He listed the blessings that we receive from God’s Word, the most important of which is our salvation.

The Word of God tells us exactly how to be saved, how to stay saved, and how to know we are saved. We should treasure our Bibles, and hold them close to our hearts, espeially in times of doubt.

When taunting voices in your head say you will never make it to heaven, silence them with the Word. “The mercies of God, and salvation, have come to me. I am saved by the Word of God.”

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for Your Word that saves me and keeps me. I know I am safe as long as I stay in Your Word.
