“Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,” 2 Timothy 1:1
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” As little girls, that question held a realm of possibilities. We could pick anything and believe that we could do it.
In secondary schools, career options often seem overwhelming to students. The thought of choosing a vocation that will still be interesting in 20 years and that is financially rewarding… well, maybe it’s just too much pressure.
That’s why we need to seek God’s will and know His choice for our career. He sees everything: past, present, future – so He alone can make the right decision for us. Paul was an apostle “by the will of God”; he let God choose his vocation.
Sometimes we find God’s perfect career choice for us later in life – if that is your situation, enjoy it, love it, live it! And if you feel you haven’t found it yet, keep seeking God for His perfect will.
Prayer: Lord, I want to pursue the career that You have chosen for me. Reveal Your perfect will to me and help me to prepare myself for my vocation.
