My habits or God’s will?

habits“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2

“That’s just my personality.” “You know redheads have a temper.” “I’ve never been able to tolerate…”

Hmmm… are these just excuses for bad habits that we have developed? The scripture above is emphasizing our need to change so that we can live out the will of God.

God’s will is that we demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. Regardless of our personality, our childhood, or past experiences, we must allow the Lord to shape and change us according to His will. And His will is good, it’s acceptable, and it’s perfect!

Prayer: Lord, forgive me if I have been resistant to change my habits. I truly want to do Your will, so transform me from the inside out.
