Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, (Hebrews 12:1, Holy Bible, King James Version).
Weight lifting demands concentration while it tones muscles. Competition racing pushes runners to excel at fastest speeds. Each has its place in the exercise regime. Merged together, they create a disaster.
Imagine running a half-marathon carrying weights. That’s what it’s like to run in the heavenly race without discarding sin. Leave it behind and run free.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be free of anything that hinders my heavenly journey. Amen.
