“And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.” Exodus 2:21
Moses was raised in a beautiful palace surrounded by things that most people only dream of. But in preparation for his role to deliver the children of Israel from the Egyptians, God had him downgrade to a much simpler lifestyle for 40 years. And Moses was content with his new living quarters.
Can we say the same? Are we happy with the home God has provided for us to live in? Or do we constantly fret over its flaws, comparing it to our friends’ homes and thinking up ways to qualify for a higher mortgage?
Let’s be content with our homes. And let’s make them a haven where our family can relax, be comforted and encouraged. Embrace your dwelling as the gift and provision of God. He knows what is best for you.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for the home You have given me. I am so grateful for a place to be safe and warm. Let me be content with Your blessings.
