“And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.” 1 Timothy 6:8
In many parts of the world, not only do we have access to all the food we need to live, but we are daily bombarded with ads to try this new food product or that new brand of coffee. We are surrounded by restaurants offering every kind of food imaginable.
It can be tempting to give in to the pressure and spend an amount on food that is disproportionate to our income. But is that the wisest choice?
Many people who say they cannot afford to give to missions refuse to start their workday without a boost from their favourite designer latte. A little contentment could go a long way in restoring financial balance to our lives.
Prayer: Lord, let me be content with good healthy food to eat. I know many people around the world are malnourished. Let me not live in excess, but in moderation.
