Content with my situation

contentment“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” Philippians 4:11

Throughout the many trials that the apostle Paul faced, he learned a vital lesson: how to be content anywhere and anytime. He had a deep abiding peace that could not be disturbed by shipwreck, stoning or disappointment.

Life doesn’t always go the way we would like it to. Sometimes we face heartache, heartbreak and betrayal. Sometimes we battle fatigue or disease. Sometimes we are confronted with financial or job difficulties.

In the midst of these trying situations, our faith in God sustains us and we can live with contentment in our hearts, regardless of what is going on around us. We just need to remember that our Heavenly Father is in control!

Prayer: Lord, whether or not my current situation makes me happy, I can still be content in You. Help me to learn to trust You completely.
