Motives

All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. (Proverbs 16:2-3, The Message)

Why do we do what we do? It would be nice to say that our motives are always pure, but are they? Reflecting back on plans that I have made and plans that I am making, I can already see that some of what I do is not really centered around the Lord at all.  Keeping Him at the center of our plans will always make things go better.  In the long run, he establishes our future so it make sense that we do our part and stay on track.

Prayer: What a great joy it is to know that you help us in everything that we do.  Help us to make choices with pure motives and to keep you at the center of everything in our lives. Amen.
