Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. (Ephesians 6:13-15, Holy Bible, New Living Translation)
The Message says it like this: “Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own.”
Get ready. Apostle Paul’s advice to the church at Ephesus seems too basic. No matter what task you’re facing, resist the urge to enter the battle until you’re covered with God’s armor. Stand firm. Step out in peace, and trust God to bring you through situations that seem hopeless.
Prayer: Lord, my feet are weary. Strengthen me and give me peace in my journey. Amen.
