“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6 in the New International Version of the Holy Bible)
We all know worry warts who live in a constant state of worry. It seems these folks can’t go through a day without worrying about something.
Apparently the church at Philippi had some of these individuals too. The Apostle Paul declared how they could rid themselves from this enemy of peace.
We really only have two choices; we can trust or we can worry.
The Message Bible puts it this way, “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns.”
As children we often sang, “Why worry when you can pray?” Good question! When my Dad caught us worrying, he would ask, “Why pray when you can worry?”
Prayer: I’m so glad that I know You Lord! I have found peace only comes from the Peacemaker. You have spoken peace to my troubled heart many times and I thank You for it!
