1 Thessalonians closes shortly after this short verse (5:26) – “Brethren, pray for us”. What a great instruction to leave the Thessalonian church with.
Pray for us… because we are all part of God’s body, the Church. We can’t just focus on what is happening in our little corner of the world.
Pray for us… because prayer is powerful, and when we join together in one accord, miraculous things happen.
Pray for us… because prayer is an expression of love. When we really care about someone, we want God’s best for them.
So, keep praying!
Prayer: Lord, when I kneel to pray, let me move past my own wants and needs, and pray for my brothers and sisters who need strength, encouragement and direction.
